Areas of Practice
Dr. Yadagiri practises across interconnected surgical disciplines - led by Surgical Oncology - drawing on three decades of training and clinical experience.
Surgical Oncology
Cancer surgery is at the centre of Dr. Yadagiri's practice. 12 years as Consultant at a Single Speciality Cancer Hospital (2010-2022) built the depth of experience that complex cancer cases reward.
Curative surgery for gastrointestinal, colorectal, pelvic and selected solid-organ cancers - performed laparoscopically wherever the case allows, openly when that is the safer choice.
Every cancer case is reviewed alongside medical and radiation oncology colleagues, with a clear treatment plan explained in plain language before any decision is taken.
- 12 years as Consultant, Single Speciality Cancer Hospital (2010-2022)
- Independent Consultant, reputed corporate hospitals in Hyderabad (2022-present)
- Certificate in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery, University of Louis Pasteur, France
Minimal Access Surgery (Laparoscopy)
Minimal access surgery, commonly known as laparoscopic or keyhole surgery, is performed through small incisions using a thin telescope-like camera and specialised instruments. It has transformed surgical practice over the last three decades and remains the cornerstone of Dr. Yadagiri's work.
Compared with traditional open surgery, minimal access procedures generally offer patients several advantages: smaller incisions, reduced post-operative pain, faster recovery times, shorter hospital stays and less visible scarring.
Dr. Yadagiri's training in this discipline is unusually deep. He honed his laparoscopic skills at Apollo Hospital under high-volume conditions, taught the technique to other surgeons in animal lab sessions, and went on to earn a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Louis Pasteur, France - one of the most respected European programmes in this discipline.
- Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery, University of Louis Pasteur (France)
- Certificate in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery, University of Louis Pasteur (France)
- F.A.G.E (Fellow, Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons)
- Animal lab trainer in laparoscopy, Apollo Hospital
- 30+ years of consultant laparoscopic practice
Complex General Laparoscopic Surgery
Not every case is straightforward. Complex laparoscopic surgery involves the cases that require the deepest technical expertise and the most considered surgical judgement - cases where the standard approach must be adapted to the specific patient.
Previous abdominal surgeries that have left scar tissue, anatomical variations, multiple conditions to be addressed in one operation, or technical demands that require advanced equipment - this is where surgeon experience matters enormously.
Dr. Yadagiri's depth comes from a specific combination: foundational laparoscopic training at Apollo, the French training at Louis Pasteur, 12 years at a Single Speciality Cancer Hospital (2010-2022) applying these techniques in high-volume practice, and his current Independent Consultant practice across several reputed corporate hospitals in Hyderabad.
Colorectal Surgery
Surgery for the colon, rectum and anus - benign and malignant. Dr. Yadagiri's France-certified training in laparoscopic colorectal surgery makes this one of his most well-equipped specialties.
Laparoscopic colectomy and rectal resection for cancer, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease in selected cases, and management of complex anorectal conditions.
Most modern colorectal cancer surgery is laparoscopic, with equivalent long-term outcomes to open surgery and significantly faster recovery - and Dr. Yadagiri's training places him among a small group of Hyderabad surgeons formally certified in the technique.
Gastrointestinal Surgery
Gastrointestinal (GI) surgery involves the digestive system - the stomach, intestines and associated organs. It is a particular area of expertise for Dr. Yadagiri, reflecting his French training in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and the years spent in advanced abdominal surgical training at a Single Speciality Cancer Hospital.
GI surgical conditions are often where the modern laparoscopic approach delivers its greatest benefits to patients - and where surgical experience and judgement matter most.
Every GI consultation starts the same way: understand the condition thoroughly before considering treatment, and explain the options clearly so the patient can participate meaningfully in the decision.
Pelvic & Gynaecologic Surgery
Surgery for benign and malignant pelvic conditions, including gynaecologic-oncology cases, performed laparoscopically where possible.
Pelvic anatomy is unforgiving and rewards experience. Dr. Yadagiri's combined oncology and minimal-access background makes this a natural area of strength.
Robotic Surgery
Robotic-assisted surgery extends the precision of laparoscopy with three-dimensional visualisation and wristed instruments - particularly useful in deep pelvic and complex oncology cases.
Robotic systems are tools, not magic. Dr. Yadagiri offers the robotic approach when it genuinely improves outcomes for the specific case, and recommends a standard laparoscopic or open approach when that is the right answer.
When to consider a surgical consultation
- - Your physician has recommended surgery and you would like a second opinion before proceeding.
- - You have a long-standing condition that has not responded well to medication or conservative treatment.
- - You are concerned about symptoms that may have a surgical cause and want a thorough evaluation.
- - You have been advised that minimal access (laparoscopic) options may be appropriate for your condition.
- - You are seeking advice on whether surgery is the right path for your particular situation.
A consultation with Dr. Yadagiri is not a commitment to surgery. It is a thorough professional evaluation that helps you make an informed decision about your health.
